FIJI Airways Begins Looking At New Widebody Options

Fiji Airways has initiated a review of its current widebody renewal options. Operating a fleet of three A330-200s and one A330-300, the Fijian carrier is said to have shown interest in the A350 from Airbus and B787 from Boeing for its new fleet.

Fiji Airways have already announced its narrowbody plans with two B737 MAX 8s due in 2018 and three in 2019. They will replace its current fleet of four B737-800s and one B737-700.

Fiji Airways currently serves New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, the US mainland, Australia, and Tonga with its A330’s. However, once they have more aircraft it will help serve the growth into the Chinese and Japanese markets while expanding its San Francisco service from the current 3x weekly, to daily.
